About IamDamsko

IamDamsko is an independent travel publication about one city: Amsterdam. Damsko is the street name locals use for the city, and it sums up what we are after here. Not the postcard version, not the stag-party version, but the Amsterdam people actually live in and the version visitors enjoy most once someone explains how it works.

What we do

We write long, practical, evergreen guides: how the trams work, which museums justify a morning, where to stay if it is your first visit, what a weekend really costs. Every guide is built to answer a question completely, so you do not have to open six more tabs.

How we research

• We walk the routes, ride the lines and queue for the tickets ourselves.
• Prices and opening hours are checked against official sources before publishing.
• Guides carry a visible "updated" date so you know how fresh the advice is.
• If something is overrated, we say so. Nobody pays for a mention.

How the site is funded

IamDamsko is free to read. In future it will be supported by advertising, and possibly by affiliate links to booking partners. When that happens, adverts will be clearly labelled, kept away from navigation, and never placed to trick you into clicking. Editorial recommendations will never be sold.
